Who is behind
Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk?
The Central Agency for Continuing Vocational Education and Training in the Skilled Crafts (ZWH) is a service provider for trades and crafts businesses and skilled trades training centers that operates nationwide in Germany.
A commitment to sustainable development is an important part of ZWH's identity. Since 2018, ZWH has been developing targeted measures as part of its project work to promote social, ecological, and economic sustainability in small and medium-sized skilled trades businesses as well as within the company itself. The ZWH supports and advises crafts organizations and businesses on their path to sustainable management.
Our funding context
The German Sustainability Code (DNK)
The German Sustainability Code (DNK) is the German government's official reporting tool – both for companies that are directly or indirectly required to report under the CSRD and for those that wish to report voluntarily under the VSME. Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk is part of the DNK support services and is aimed specifically at skilled trades businesses. Voluntary reporters can use the Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk to create their sustainability report step by step based on the DNK platform – with the help of language tailored to the skilled trades and practical examples from the skilled trades sector.
All voluntary sustainability reports created by skilled trades businesses as part of the Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk are made available via the DNK platform.
The big advantage: businesses can also make their reports available on the DNK platform for interested third parties such as companies, banks, or contracting authorities to view, if they wish to do so.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)
Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk is a project of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) within the framework of the German Sustainability Code (DNK). It aims to effectively support SMEs in the skilled trades sector in their sustainability reporting.
Strength through partnership
German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ)
German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) is implementing the further development of the German Sustainability Code (DNK) – with technical support from the Council for Sustainable Development (RNE), which is also based at GIZ.
The German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH)
The German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH) is an umbrella organization for the economy, bringing together 53 Chambers of Crafts, around 50 trade associations at the federal level, as well as other economic institutions and institutions of skilled crafts in Germany. As a cooperation partner, the ZDH supports the development and dissemination of the Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk.
Our network – Made by skilled trades experts for skilled trades businesses
Numerous experts from the skilled trades contributed to the development of the Zukunfts-Kompass Handwerk and made a decisive contribution with their specialist knowledge.
Thank you very much for the productive and successful collaboration!
